For continuous recording of projectile motion in a gas gun, a new method, "inline holographic velocimetry", is proposed and demonstrated. The inline hologram pattern of a wire is recorded by a streak camera via a mirror, which is moving between the wire and the recording plane. The mirror is glued onto the nose of an accelerating projectile. The projectile motion can be obtained precisely by analyzing the fringe spacings which gradually become narrower with increasing displacement. It was found that the projectile acceleration is almost constant except in the early stage.
