During 3 months stay at transplant unit in Seattle, about 80 bone marrow transplants were done.Clinical course of 5 patients, out of 12 whom I took care of as a primary doctor, were presented.In Seattle, long-term survival for patients with ANLL transplanted in first remission were 70% in patients under age 20, 42% in ages 20∼29 and 27% in ages 30∼50. Long-term survival transplanted for ALL in second or subsequent remission were 27%, since recurrence of leukemia was the major problems. Long-term survival for untransfused patients with aplastic anemia was 80%. In patients with aplastic anemia, ATG therapy is an effective alternative for bone marrow transplantation.Recent advance and prospect in Seattle were mentioned.
