Forest has held a variety of functions, in recent years, it is expected the effect of forest therapy. There is a system to be certified as "forest therapy base," the therapeutic benefits of the forest area has been verified. As part of the activation region, for local residents, it is promoting the certification of base therapy. There are many studies on the physiological and psychological effects of the forest, but there is little research on the changing consciousness of forest users and local residents before and after certification. The goal of forest therapy base is "reforestation in the region" and "regional revitalization." The result of this study, local residents believed reforestation in the region has been achieved after the base cer tification. However, they were thinking the activation of the region has not been achieved. In addition, in the forest users and local residents, awareness of forest therapy base was different. Local residents who experienced forest therapy program had highly evaluated the forest therapy base, but evaluation of local residents who have not experienced the forest therapy program was low. In the future, in order to maintain the forest therapy base, it is necessary that not only the forest users from outside the region, also provided to local residents forest therapy program.
