Histaminopexic power (H. P. P.) was measured in 221 cases of hyperesthetic rhinitis before and during treatment using the Shimatani, Sakano method. Hyposensitization was used for treatment. 1) Of 20 healthy subjects, 512-times or more of H. P. P. was observed in 19 cases and 256-times or less in one. 2) Among the patients, H. P. P. before treatment was 256-times or less in 110 cases and 512-times or more in 111. These were lower values than those of healthy subjects. 3) Changes of H. P. P. during a short period were observed in 5 cases. H. P. P. changed in a relatively short period in which it declined from 1, 024-times to 128-times or increased from 265-times to 1, 024-times in two weeks. 4) With the group of house dust allergy patients with a favorable course, H. P. P. changed markedly for about one year after the commencement of treatment, after which it tended to become stabilized. This tendency was not found with the group in which the course was unfavorable. 5) The increase of H. P. P. was more marked in cases of histamine gammaglobulin conjugate nebulization than in those of beclomethasone dipropionate inhalation. 6) No correlation was found between the IgE level and H. P. P. before the treatment.
