Various favorite expressions in complaining about vertigo and dizziness can be classified to three kinds of sensation, say, whirling sensation, shaking and unsteady sensation, and dazed and groggy sensation fundamentally. In this study, investigations on the statistical analysis of time sequence of nystagmus frequencies of ENG in case of caloric tests have been conducted in order to clarify whether three kinds of fundamental expression of giddy sensation are corresponding with perception of a certain type of vestibular function disorders or not.<BR>The results obtained are the following:<BR>1) It is clear that each of giddy sensation is identical and also is pertaining to response behavior of vestibular function disturbances.<BR>2) In case of caloric test, it is found that response behavior in consequence of cold water stimuli will be considered different from warm water stimuli with regard to time sequence of the variance and interaural correlation of nystagmus frequencies. Therefore, it may be inferred that there are two different systems of vestibular function in response to cold and warm water stimuli.
