A 15-year-old boy was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease (HD) stage IIIB with lesions at the cervical and axillar lymphnodes, and spleen. He attained a complete response with three courses of a combination of alternating A-COPP (doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, procarbazine and prednisone) and ABVD (doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine and dacarbazine) therapy. However, 8 months after cessation of the therapy, the disease recurred at the mediastinal lymph nodes, lungs and spleen. The relapsed lesions responded partially to 3 courses of ICE regimen (ifosfamide, carboplatin and etoposide). Thus, the patient received mega therapy of MEAM regimen (ranimustine, etoposide, cytarabine, melphalan), followed by auto-PBSCT. He has had a favorable clinical course with regressed lung lesions, and has maintained a complete remission for 1.8 year since auto-PBSCT.
