The wettability of aluminum against SiC was evaluated by means of an interfacial impedance method. SiC was dipped into the molten aluminum or, SiC came into contact with aluminum by using centrifugal casting in Ar atmosphere. In this system equivalent circuit at the interface is considered from Cole-Cole plot as parallel circuit of resistance and capacitance. If the wettability is better at the interface, the capacitance of the electric equivalent circuit is comparatively larger. In this system, the impedance data R, whose value is a length of segment of the semicircle cut by real axis in the impedance diagram, also changes with the wettability.
