Rearing pigs 1, 573 produced by 160 sires and 517 dams of Berkshire were ultrasonically scanned in order to determine the genetic parameters and phenotypic correlation within their carcass traits and to clarify the effects of some factors on their traits. The male pigs had bigger rib eye area (REA) and less fat thickness than female ones. The effects of the scanning age affected to all carcass traits significantly (P<0.01) . Subcutaneous fat thickness (SFT) was significantly (P<0.05) influenced by the interaction of sex and parity. The effect of the regression of the scanning age affected to all carcass traits significantly. The heritabilities were 0.465, 0.534, 0.532, 0.318, and 0.104 for male pigs and were 0.575, 0.991, 0.991, 0.730, and 0.548 for the guts on the traits of REA, SFT, SFT 1, SFT 2., and intramuscular fat thickness (IMFT), respectively. Genetic correlation coefficients were 0.244-0.937 within the carcass traits. The phenotypic correlation coefficients were 0.398-0.843 within back fat thickness. The significant correlation coefficients were found between the rearing pigs and their sire or dam for REA, SFT, SFT 1, and SFT 2. IMFT of rearing pigs were significantly correlative to same trait of their dams.
