We reported a case of renal crisis in the course of progressive systemic sclerosis, which was manifested by severe hypertension and progressively deseriorated renal function. The hypertension was diagnosed to be renin-dependent on the basis of the high level of plasma renin activity and the depressor response to angiotensin II antagonist. The high blood pressure was controlled by captopril. In addition, we could confirm quantitatively the rise of the skin .lesion temperature by the thermal-equivalent thermometer and the efficay of captopril on the skin lesion of progressive systemic sclerosis was suggested.
