83 cases of head and neck malignant tumor were treated with synergistic combination therapy of 5 FU in dry syrup form, Vitamin A and irradiation from April 1977 to March 1980. The therapeutic effects of this combination therapy are summerized as follows after evaluating of the effects of other treatments which were performed simultaneously or successively.<BR>1) Oral 5 FU dry syrup is effective in the treatment combined with Vitamin A and irradiation.<BR>2) In T2 cases of the laryngeal cancer and regional lymphnodes metastasis there are many curable cases with this therapy only.<BR>3) This therapy is also effective for malignant tumor of epipharynx and maxillary cancer.<BR>4) This therapy is not so effective for cancers of oral cavity including tongue.
