A rare case of a 20 year old man, who swallowed a chop-stick of a length of 23cm was reported. It was successfully removed using an esophagofiberscope from the stomach.<BR>For the removal of the foreign body from the stomack a special kind of forceps was used which had been developed by Endo, M. D. The foreign body was removed under visual guidance and taken out with the fiberscope. The fiberscope will contribute not only the diagnostic fields but also in the therapeutic fields.
