The authors reported a technique of regional chemotherapy with arterial infusion for the treatment of maxillary carcinoma. The idea dealt with a continuous infusion of antimetabolite as long as possible and the results were presented.<BR>The most serious problem of this method has been how to keep the infusion tube in the correct position for a long time and how to prevent circulatory disorders in the arteries supplying to the paranasal sinuses.<BR>A continuous pouring of Heparin and Urokinase in the infusion tube was most important to prevent the arterial obstruction for more than 6 weeks, resulting in the possibility of treating carcinomas of the paranasal sinuses without any defect and yet preserving the normal function.<BR>Several other devices to develope this technique were also described.
