The authors report two recovered cases of the so-called rhinogenous optic neuritis.
1) A twenty-three-years-old woman who had complained of weakness of vision recovered completely in 21 days after the radical operation of the maxiDary and ethmoid sinus.
2) A twenty-five-years-old woman who had also complained of bilateral weakness of vision completely recovered from her complaint of the left side in 22 days after the radical operation of the maxillary and ethmoid sinus of the same side, but her sinuses of the right side were not operated on.
The authors conclude that the neuritis had probably been caused by the lasting irritation of the sinusitis affecting the orbit through the thin bony wall.
