Hemangiomas often occur in the head and neck region, and when they are removed surgically, postoperative functional deficit may appear.KTP laser is easily absorbed into the hemoglobin and makes it possible to perform photocoagulation for hemangiomas. We treated 8 patients of hemangiomas in the oral cavity, the pharynx and the larynx using KTP laser. Laser surgery could be easily performed in all cases without hemorrhage, and postoperative complication such as edema was not observed. Two cases demonstrated recurrence of tumor after operation, and were well controlled by repeated KTP laser surgery_??_<BR>KTP laser is a first choice for treatment of hemangiomas, because the surgery can be done easily in safe and repeatedly with good results.
