Monthly surveillance of parasitic infection was carried out to determine the seasonal variations in goats in Southern Kyushu. A total of 270 fecal samples derived from goats raised in two farms (132 goats and 138 goats) were examined with monthly farm visit after antihelminthic with Ivermectin (0.2 mg/kg body weight) and Sulfamonometoxin (40 mg/kg body weight) in April and July 2000. Monthly fecal examination was continued until March 2001. A number of EPG (Eggs per gram) and OPG (Oocysts per gram) were determined and the results were classified with Strongyloidea, Capillaria sp., Strongyloides papillosus and Coccidian oocyst. Both numbers of EPG and OPG decreased after antihelminthic in April and July (P<0.05) . However, the variation of parasitic fauna differed depending on the farms, and these implied the difference of environmental and nutritional conditions in the farm. Two times of anthelmintics treatment with Ivermectin and Sulfamonometoxin in spring (i.e. April) and summer (July) in a year is practical strategy for parasite control in goats in Southern Kyushu.
