Cefatridine (CFT), a new internal medicament of Cefem, has nearly same antibacterial spectrum as Cephalexin (CEX), and its antibacterial activity is bactericidal and twice to eight-fold as CEX.<BR>We compared the change of serum concentration and urinary recovery of CFT in human with CEX for study on absorption and excretion of CFT. Tissue concentration of CFT in Wistar strain-rats was also studied.<BR>1. When oral administration after a meal, CFT had taken 3h to peak (4.0±1.1μg/ml), CEX was 8.0±2.4μg/ml after 2h, and CFT had slowly decreased after peak. In 6h after oral administration, serum concentration of CFT was higher than CEX, it proved tendency that CFT had disappeared slowly from serum.<BR>2. Urinary recovery of CFT, until 6h after oral administration, was 54% (CEX 63.5%) .<BR>3. Peak of tissue concentration of CFT was in 1.5-2h after oral administration, and was 20-30% at serum concentration. Peak of concentration of CFT recognized higher in order to followed, Kidney>Serum>Liver>Tongue>Palatalgingiva>Submaxillary lymph-node>Submaxillary gland.
