The control of nitrogen oxides by exhaust recirculation, intake throttling and injection timing has been investigated experimentally on small type high speed diesel engine, while power out put, smoke contamination and carbon monooxide concentration have been measured at the same time.<BR>Based on the results of these tests, the author concludes with recomendation concerning choice of operation conditions to ensure a minimum discharge of nitrogen oxides.
