Experimental Investigations on the Structure of Turbulent Flames

The structure of turbulent flames is explained either by the surface combustion theory, in which the combustion proceeds in wrincled or scattered laminar flame front, or by volume combustion theory, in which the combustion occurs in comparatively thick flame zone.The author examines many experimental results in the past and shows that some characteristics of the turbulent flame support the former theory and others are favourable to the latter.
