The author describes the characteristics of formation reaction in the prepar-ation of acetylene by the thermal cracking of methan, the technical development of Sachsse, Hills and Wulf methods, and considers the chemical engineering for this method.<BR>At the industrial standpoint, he concludes for several problems the treatment of craked gas (separation and purification of acetylene, removal of carbon, sulfur and polyacetylene) and utilization of rest gas and diluted acetylene, and also considers economically for this method.
