The lag of the transmitted pressure through long pipes connected to the pitotstatic tube of an airplane was experimentally investigated by deciding the resistance coefficient of the pitot-static tubes and connected pipe lines. The errors in the static tube line mounted on an airplane climbing or descending at a constant rate were measured and compared with the calculated values. The errors of the altimeter and the airspeed indicator due to the above errors in the static tube line were also measured. The errors in the static tube line in the diving flight of an airplane were experimentally measured in the low pressure chamber. The amplitude and phase lag of the sinusoidally changing pressure transmitted through the pipe lines were measured and compared with the theoretical results.
