A report by HSIEH, HUNGATE, and WILSON [1] has demonstrated the drastic reduction in exposure time to alpha particles which can be obtained in autoradiography by using Polaroid types 57 and 410 Land films in combination with a silver-activated ZnS intensifier. The present study was undertaken in order to determine the possibility of using the presently available Polaroid four- by five-inch Land photographic films as no-screen emulsions for contact autoradiography with specimens containing nuclides of various radiation characteristics.
