To agglomerate poor coal powders, such as Miike precipitated fine coal, Yamano- and Tagawa-Senseki, they were carbonized at low temperature in electric narrow oven.
This oven is 170mm wide and can charge over 20kg. Blended coal powder was carbonized
at wall temperature of 650°C for about 8hrs.
Cokes with high strength were made when blended coal powder of Senseki (20-40%) and Miike coal (80-60%) were carbonized, and these cokes can be used for gasification or domestic fuel.
