A theoretical equation has been derived to estimate the amount of air flow which passes through a fabric at a given angle to a fabric surface. The reliability of the equation has experimentally been discussed to investigate the influence of the fabric construction and surface condition on the equation. The amount of air flow tends to be affected by the fabric surface in slower speed of air flow and in less angle to a fabric surface. The amount of air flow passing through the fabric of nozzle type, i.e., A>B in permeability parameter, is remarkably affected by the surface condition. The experimental amount of air flow is less than the theoretical value. By contrast, the amount of air flow passing through the fabric of capillary type, i.e., A<B. more agrees with a theoretical value than the fabric of nozzle type. Thus, the am ount of air flow can well be predicted by the theoretical value compensated by the parameters A and B.
