We report a rare case of pleomorphic adenoma originating from the vestibule of the nose.A 52-year-old woman reporting left nasal obstruction and intermittent epistaxis was found in anterior rhinoscopy to have a smooth tumor occupying the left nasal cavity, histologically diagnosed as pleomorphic adenoma.Contrast-enhanced CT showed a soft tissue mass enhanced inhomogeneously in the anterior nasal cavity. The mass abutted the nasal septum and inferior turbinate, but had not destroyed them.MR showed that the mass was well-defined hyperintense in T2-weighted images and hypointense in T1-weighted images.En bloc tumor resection including adjacent normal tissue was done via an intranasal approach. The 30×20mm, parenchymatous tumor arose from the vestibule of the nose.On postoperative pathological examination, it was diagnosed as pleomorphic adenoma consisting of solid and myxoid areas. The difference between immunohistochemical findings for this tumor and those in pleomorphic adenoma is discussed.
