A new class of holography, which utilizes a guided wave as the reference and/or the reconstructing (illuminating) waves, is proposed for the purpose of the hologramintegration. The hologram, designated as "Waveguide Hologram" by the authors, reconstructs signal waves by the principle of the grating output coupler in the integratedoptics. The principle and the wavefront-reconstructing characterttics of the waveguidehologram are outlined and some experiments are presented for demonstration.
