Ablations of Cu and Zn using an abrupt changes of intensity distribution in an ultra-short laser pulse generated by a phase-edge aluminum reflecting mirror have been demonstrated. An remarkable increase of the attachment near the center part of the deposition where the light intensity is almost zero has been observed. The growth process of the deposition is discussed in comparison with that produced by a coventional gaussian laser beam.
