A high power cw 337-μm HCN laser has been developed for the source of plasma diagnostics on the JIPP T-IIU tokamak. Output power of about 500 mW was obtained with a 5 m long and 59 mm inner diameter waveguide laser. By use of a HCN laser developed, a multichannel interferometer, a one-channel polarimeter, and a laser scattering system with a heterodyne detection were developed for the measurements of electron and current density profiles and electron density fluctuations.
