It is well-known that stereopsis in patients with amblyopia is insufficient, even when there is no strabismus present. In this study, we compared the result of motion stereopsis evaluated using a Dynamic Random Dot Stereogram (DRDS) and static stereopsis evaluated by a Lang stereotest and Titmus circle test. We examined 41 patients between November 1996 to October 1997. We found no statistically-significant difference in the results for motion stereopsis and static stereopsis. However, static stereopsis tended to show better results than motion stereopsis. In patients with amblyopia whose visual acuity was lower than (0.3), stereopsis tended to be worse.
