A 24-year-old woman complained of back pain. A chest X-ray revealed an abnormal shadow in the mediastinum.Thoracotomy was performed with diagnosis of posterior mediastinal tumor. The tumor was smooth-surfaced, firmly elastic and the size of a small chicken egg. Histologically, it was a neuroblastoma.Neuroblastoma is not frequently observed in adults and is rarely found in the mediastinum.
