Improvements on the performance of the composite catalysts for conversion of syngas to liquid hydrocarbons were investigated. The catalyst concerned here was a composite, consisting of a methanol synthesis catalyst (ZnO-Cr2O3) and ZSM-5 zeolite. When the methanol synthesis catalyst was modified by doping with Pd and redox-treated, consecutively, gasoline yields increased. Syngas composed of an equivalent molar ratio of H2 and CO was converted to hydrocarbons and CO2 with selectivities of 54% and 46%, respectively at 38.3% CO conversion at 381°C, 20atm and with 6, 600 hourly space velocity. The gasoline fraction in the hydrocarbon products was 37.5c-mol% and it contained aromatics produced with 9.1c-mol% selectivity.
