Our case described here was a 75-year-old man admitted for an operation of gastric cancer which developed in the residual stomach. Routine barium enema study showed a polyp in the rectum. Subsequent colonoscopic examinaiton revealed an another small lesion in the sigmoid colon. Biopsy specimen was positive for adenocarcinoma. Operation was performed. The resected specimen showed a slightly depressed lesion with redness, mesuring 11×8mm in size. On this macroscopic findings, we diagnosed this case as type II early carcinoma. Histologically, it was a well differentiated adenocarcinoma invading to the shallow part of submucosa. Lymph nodes were free from metastasis. Adenomatous elements were not observed.
