Electrospinning has been recognized as an efficient technique for the fabrication of polymer nanofibers. Various polymers have been successfully electrospun into nanofibers. Academic and industrial researches on nanofibers are the areas of increasing global interest, as seen in an exponential increase of the number of research papers and patents and a rapid spread to the fields of medical, electrical and filtration applications. JNC Co., Ltd. is developing electrospun fibers to commercialize nanofiber products. However, that is still challenging because of the low productivity and the slightly high cost. In order to solve these problems, JNC focused on the following three issues, (1) the basic study regarding electrospinning parameters, (2) developing favorable applications for electrospun nanofibers and (3) developing massproduction technology. In this paper, JNCs approaches are reported.
