Future automobiles that realize both safe and convenient transportation are required to minimize their negative effects on the environment as well as traffic congestion and collisions. Toyota has consistently performed this social task aiming at the achievement of an affluent society with automotives. The successful development of hybrid technology has provided one of the solutions for a drastic reduction of CO2 emissions from cars. Integrating safety systems that Toyota has developed can support a safe and optimal driving according to driving conditions. Technological foundations for chemistry, physics, analysis and others are important to make a breakthrough for an unexplored new field of science and technology, which would yield innovative solutions to a lot of serious issues surrounding automotive transportation.
