Antitumor effect by docetaxel (DOC) combined with hyperthermia for oral cancer and resistant tumor against cisplatinum (CDDP) were analyzed by mean of proliferation assay method using cell lines of human tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SAS) in vitro. Result of this experimental study, number of cells of SAS was remarkably decreased according to the concentration of dosage of DOC and different circumstances at the temperatures of 37, 40 and 43°C. This may consist of hypersensitivity of DOC. Moreover, tumor cells might be showed suppressive effects at the different concentration of DOC from 0.1 to 10μg/mL under the circumstance of 37°C and 40°C showed antitumor effects under different temperatures of 43°C for the resistant cells against CDDP. Based on these results, it is considered to be DOC act the hyperthermic sensitivity and effective against resistance of CDDP in hyperthermic chemotherapy using DOC in clinic.
