Rehabilitation problems in fifty-one patients with cardiac pacemakers were discussed.Adams-Stokes attacks, observed in fourty-one cases (80.3 per cent), were completely eliminated after pacing.Occupational rehabilitation was carried out in twelve cases (55.0 per cent). Housewives and schoolgirls completely recovered.The rehabilitation ratio in various types of conduction and rhythm disturbances were; AV block, 50.0 per cent; sick sinus symdrome, 38.0 per cent; atrial fibrillation with bradycardia, 25.0 per cent.The physical performance of unemployed paced patients was markedly improved in thirteen cases (65.0 per cent).The most significant factors inhibiting the rehabilitation of paced patients were age, and unfavorable social and/or family conditions.
