The extraction of palladium (II) from hydrochloric acid solutions containing sulphur compounds (dihexyl sulphide, DHS, and dihexyl sulphoxide, DHSO) have been investigated under different conditions. As a result, it has been found that the extraction efficiency for palladium (II) of DHS and DHSO is in the order DHS › DHSO. The distribution coefficients for DHS and DHSO decrease with increasing aqueous acidities, and approach the minima and then rise.<BR>Furthermore the equilibrium equations for the extraction of palladium (II) from hydrochloric acid solutions by DHS and DHSO are proposed on the bases ofthe results obtained.
