Background: In patients with tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy, there are two major electrocardiogram abnormalities on addmission; ST-elevation and T wave inversion. There are no previous report about the differences between these two groups. Hypothesis; ST-elevation on addmission is related with symptom to addmission time, similar to ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction. Methods and Results: Total 22 patients (Male: n=3, Age; 70.7±10.1) who was diagnosed as tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy and the onset was clearly documented. ST-elevation was defined as 2 mm ST segemet elevation in consequense leads. We compared ST-elevation patients (S group) and the others (T groups). S groups were significantly shorter symptom to addmission time (1.5±1.4 hours vs 6.3±1.6 hours, p=0.011), and serum C-reactive protein levels on addmission (0.1±0.1 vs 1.6±2.5, p=0.036). There is no differences between two groups; serum maximum creatinine kinase levels (203.8±77.9 IU/L vs 241.9±171.6 IU/L, p=0.64). Conclusion: ST-elevation of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy means short symptom to addmission time and early phase of tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy.
