• The ion beams off the median plane and parallel to it travel in a different fringing field from that in the median plane. So, the ion paths off the medain plane is different from that in the median plane, and the image the source slit produced by the ion beams off the median plane is shifted slightly along the y-axis. In this paper, the positions of the images are calculated numerically.
