The behavior of Bendix Channeltron C. E. M. 4028, a new type electron multiplier has beer investigated on the multiplier gain, pulse height distribution, etc. The multiplier gain exceeded 10<SUP>8</SUP>and full width at half-maximum of pulse height distribution was 50% in a pulse saturated mode for heavy ion with low energy. The C. E. M. 4028 was confirmed to be well applicable to pulse counting method which was not only especially important in the isotopic micro analysis of radioactive material, but also seemed to be useful in other kinds of applications. The isotopic abundance ratio of mercury was measured by the mass-spectrometer with this detector system, finding the results were well coincided with the well known data in literature.
