• Data downloaded from a database is assumed to be transferred to another system. This is effectively performed only with appropriate methods of data processing at downloading, data conversion, generalization and utilization. An actual example is presented in this paper. The author conducted the transfer of data from the LC MARC CD-ROM database to a company database run on a personal computer and to a mainframe, the HITAC/L-470X. The process is datailed in this paper using the standardized BASIC interpreter. The author also depicts the real course of batch loading onto a university library system, as well as discussing the independence of bibliographical data from a library system.
