Solid state photolysis of alkali tris(oxalato)ferrates(III) (Li, Na, K, Cs, and NH<SUB>4</SUB>) was studied with mercury radiation in the visible region by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy. The intermediate K<SUB>6</SUB>[Fe<SUB>2</SUB><SUP>11</SUP>(ox)<SUB>5</SUB>] is formed in the case of potassium tris(oxalato)ferrate (III) and FeC<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>·2H<SUB>2</SUB>O in the case of other alkali tris(oxalato)ferrates(III) [Li, Na, Cs, and NH<SUB>4</SUB>].
