The crystal structure of trans-2,5-dimethylpiperazine has been determined by means of the X-ray method. The molecule is centrosymmetric, the piperazine ring having a chair form. The methyl groups are in the equatorial position. The molecules are linked together by N–H···N hydrogen bonds (N···N=3.305(3) Å) to form infinite ribbons along [011].
