Visible spectra and electrochemical behavior of the title complex [Ru{C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>4</SUB>(N=CHC<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>4</SUB>O-<I>o</I>)<SUB>2</SUB>}{P(C<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB>}<SUB>2</SUB>] (<B>I</B>) are reported. The redox potentials of the ruthenium complex were determined at 25°C to be <I>E</I><SUP>\ominus</SUP>=0.27±0.01 V (in CH<SUB>2</SUB>Cl<SUB>2</SUB>) and −0.161±0.005 V (in CH<SUB>3</SUB>OH), relative to <I>E</I><SUP>\ominus</SUP>(Fe(C<SUB>5</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUP>+⁄0</SUP>)=0.400 V.
