CoAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, with the spinel structure in a dispersed form, was synthesized at 400 °C by using zeolite A as a starting material. A specific surface area of the products was measured by adsorption of (CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>CHCH<SUB>3</SUB> gas at −110 °C and the mean size of the product particles was estimated to be about 14 nm.
