The equations-of-motion (EOM) method proposed by Shibuya and McKoy (<I>Phys. Rev.</I>, <B>A2</B>, 2208 (1970); <I>J. Chem. Phys.</I> <B>58</B>, 500 (1973)) has been extended to include (2p-2h)-state creation and annihilation operators in the excitation operator <I>O</I><SUB>λ</SUB><SUP>†</SUP>.
