• Solvolytic reactions of triarylchloroallenes in the presence of thiocyanate and <I>O</I>-ethyl dithiocarbonate anions gave the corresponding allenyl derivatives, while the reaction in the presence of cyanate anion afforded the corresponding propargyl derivative. These results are interpreted in terms of a steric factor of the nucleophiles.
