• Cellulose acetate supported stigmasterol liquid surfactant membrane has been characterized by measuring membrane potentials, using NaCl solutions of different concentrations. Fixed charge density, φ\bar<I>X</I>, permselectivity, <I>P</I><SUB>s</SUB>, have been estimated from ionic transport numbers. Variation of membrane potential with pH and concentration of NaCl solution has also been examined.
