The infrared spectra in the polycrystalline state (4000–50 cm<SUP>−1</SUP>), in melt and in solution and the Raman spectra in the solid state and in melt of the substances have been studied for 2-pyridone and 2-pyridone-<I>N</I>-<I>d</I>. A vibrational assignment of the observed frequencies is given. Ideal gas state thermodynamic functions of the two isotopic molecules based on the observed fundamental frequencies have been determined in the temperature range 200–1500 K.
