• Various alcohols were selectively dehydrogenated over the Cd<SUB>3</SUB>(PO<SUB>4</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB> catalyst. The addition of CCl<SUB>4</SUB> during the reaction resulted in a rapid decrease in dehydrogenation activity and in an increase in dehydration activity, accompanied by an evolution of CO<SUB>2</SUB>.
