Bis(<I>trans</I>-1-hexenyl)methylborane, prepared by the reaction of bis(<I>trans</I>-1-hexenyl)chloroborane with methyllithium, was treated with 2 molar equivalents of methylcopper(I) at −78 °C to give (5<I>E</I>,7<I>E</I>)-5,7-dodecadiene quantitatively. The result indicates the presence of <I>trans</I>-1-hexenylcopper(I) intermediate.
